Social media has become immensely merged into our lives that we do not even notice most of its uses. I found four ways and tools through which I use social media.
1. Scrutinize Trends Deeply
Learning is good, even I love to learn and explore information and stay up to date with the events that unfold quickly. Social media is a platform to stay tuned to breaking news, headlines, detailed commentary of events and or topics you are interested in, and get notified by. But on the same run it is tricky to sort out what exactly you want from a pool of information, as information is scattered.
Topsy, known as “Google of social media”, offers you to explore information that is timely required, watch events and allows you to nudge into the topics, by making you available itself in different languages across the social networks.
2. Keep Tabs
As we all know, it’s the era of Twitter, where we get connected by people and keep up with them through their tweets. But the problem is, if you are following more than 100 people, it makes difficult for you to get important information, and hence require your full attention and concentration of mind if you want to get updated.
If you are a geek and afraid of missing any sort of information like I do, then you must search for a solution to this problem, a tool that automatically filters for you what you actually require from the people you select.
Brook, a digest, allows you to select people out of list of 100, it then daily send you an email pertaining five best tweets of people you select. All the hectic work of gathering tweets, screening, and filtering them done by Brook, which after completing this daily cycle sends you an email every morning.
3. Find Out When You Are Being Talked About
It can be very time-taking to search your name, your friend’s name, any company’s name or industry on different social media networks, but for keeping your good-will and reputation it is necessary. What to do then?
Mention, a tool offers you to trace your query on multiple social media platforms through keyword search system. By telling the Mention a specific term, it notify you back with data containing these term. You should be very specific while choosing terms, or you will end up with a junk of irrelevant notifications.
4. Track your Posts Clicks
It is just impossible for everyone to actively participate on social media all the time, but a person like me wants to share content (which I pooled) on a time-scheduled system.
I found Buffer the most useful for this problem. It works with your browser and allows you to share content by just a single click and also helps you to select social media platforms on which you want to spread your content. It also helps you to set a time-plan for your posts to get published. Additionally Buffer got the ability to track number of clicks on your post you shared, as each post has a unique URL.
Be up-to-date with social media but do not let this thing swallow your real life. Play with the real time management through different tools that make you active and efficient.
